What makes a Hot Mamma? Positive energy, inner beauty (and let’s face it- when someone has inner beauty, they also have outer beauty), someone who balances life well, and no matter what life throws at them- they see the glass half full. Our Hot Mamma’s are working moms who “have it all”- family, career and happiness. And in true OCMAMMA style- our Hot Mamma’s are also…HOT.
Our hope is that you pat our Hot Mamma’s on the back for being able to juggle it all (with a smile on their face), and when possible- support their businesses. Description of company you own or work for: Home|Simplified is a professional home and family organization service that helps moms and wives get and maintain control of their households through hands-on organizing (think: “Mission Organization”) and personalized coaching (think: your best girlfriend with really great tips for taking the stress out of running your home). I’m a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers and a Certified Family Manager® Coach.
How does your business help other moms and/or kids? I help moms and wives manage what matters most – their home and family. I offer simple solutions and support in not only organizing their houses (closets, kitchen, the toys, photos), but also their households. I can help get a handle on time, schedules, and routines to make their homes run more smoothly and free up time for doing what they want to do instead of what they have to do.
How do you balance work and kids? I plan and make lists and prioritize everything. My calendar is a very close friend.
What is your favorite activity with your kiddo? Any activity that brings lots of smiles and kisses!
What is one piece of advice that you could share with other mom’s? My favorite quote: "The most important thing she'd learned over the years was that there was no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one." - Jill Churchill
What is your favorite online site for kids or moms? For moms, realsimple.com (tip: practically everything from the magazine is online) and for children, webkinz or familyfun.go.com (Disney’s site for activities, crafts and recipes).
What is one of your favorite books about parenting? “Beyond One: Growing a Family and Getting a Life”, by Jennifer Bingham Hull. It’s a great perspective on going from a one-child-family to a two-child-family.
What is your biggest guilty pleasure? Taking a Jacuzzi bath with a glass of wine and a novel on Sunday afternoons – it doesn’t get any better!
If you won the lotto today, what would be the first thing you would spend money on? (assuming you have to buy yourself something.. I know, it is a stretch) A wardrobe that doesn’t scream “MOMMY” and reservations to all the best places in the OC where I could wear it!
